AYUMI NEW RELEASES

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Ayumi Shinn was kind enough to send me a reviewer’s pack of her newest releases. I never feel that I must review items I receive, especially when they are not my style. To be honest, these are not exactly my style, but they are nicely made and I had fun with them. I even went dancing in the pink Temptation dress. I like the little touches Ayumi adds such as the V diamond detail at the neckline of that dress and the shading. The items here are just a sampling of the colors each item comes in. Stop in and see for yourself.

AGNES FINNEY'S MY PRECIOUS SECOND ANNIVERSARY SHOW

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

If you missed the noon show, don’t despair, there is a repetition at 4:00 p.m. SLT. You don’t want to miss this showing of some of her very newest gowns and a few of the older but most popular. It’s an excellent show and one you will enjoy. However, I can guarantee that the sim will be completely full, so don’t be late. Oh, and for those of you lucky enough to make it in, here’s the little gift for attendees. The fabric has a lovely, glowing opalescent quality with one of the beautiful border prints that Ms. Finney uses so effectively. This border print is a delightful swarm of butterflies giving the dress it’s name–My Butterfly Princess. The bodice is covered with a profusion of pink posies. It’s a delightful surprise.

Here is your limousine to the show.

AVERY FROM BLISS COUTURE

Friday, December 25th, 2009

Lots of luscious lace plus a little bit of satin at the top make up the hot bodysuits that go beneath these gowns. Add a skirt made of mounds of lace that move up rather than down–now that’s different. These gowns are a bit daring, however, the lace hides just enough to allow you to appear in a PG venue, but make no mistake, all eyes will be on you wondering, “Does she or doesn’t she?”  Amuety DeCuir of Bliss Couture added a lovely flower and streamers on the left shoulder and finished the gown with  opera-length gloves. One of these would make the perfect New Year’s Eve party gown, but which color: gold, black, blue, purple, red, or teal? Thank heavens I don’t have to pick just one–I’m not sure I could do it!

MY PRECIOUS LEGEND CHRISTMAS SILVER WHITE

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

It doesn’t matter how many times I look at all of the gowns in all of the vendors at My Precious, I never really see them all. Here is an example. This is not a new gown, but I had never seen this exact one before. I quizzed Ms. Finney: Was this a new gown? No. Was it revised in some way? No. Was it a new color? No. Was the addition of the fur new? No. There is nothing new about this gown, she confirmed. I cannot understand how I missed this one.

This gown is gorgeous and sexy. The silver-white fabric has white stars that add a nice texture. The bandeau top has crisscrossed ribbons down to the waist leaving the midriff almost bare–that “almost bare” is part of the secret to “sexy.” The skirt starts as form-fitting with a flounce down the left-hand side. Then it flares into tiers that reach the floor and the trail behind in a long train.

The gown is complemented with opera-length gloves that reach all the way to the fur that adds such an elegant touch on the arms. This gown is one I want to wear out with my sweetie. He thinks I look gorgeous in it–I hope you do too. Stop by My Precious and see the other colors it comes in, they’re all gorgeous.

Don’t forget, My Precious is having two anniversary fashion shows on Saturday, December 26. The first is 12:00 PM SLT and the second, 4:00 PM SLT. I hope to see you there. Here’s your limousine to the runway area.

MY PRECIOUS ANNIVERSARY FASHION SHOW

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

It was only two short years ago that Agnes Finney opened My Precious with some of the most beautiful gowns in SL. Saturday, December 26 will be the day she and Alienbear Gupte of Alienbear Design sponsor not one but two fashion shows. The first show will be 12:00 P.M. SLT and the second at 4:00 P.M. SLT. Having the show twice will allow twice as many people to see it and, she hopes will be more convenient for people in all time zones. This is a show you do not want to miss–I know I won’t–I’ll be there at both shows modeling some of Agnes’ most beautiful gowns. I hope to see you there. Here is your limousine.

MY PRECIOUS PRINCESS JOSEPHINE

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Agnes Finney has designed a gorgeous new gown called Princess Josephine that will make its debut at the My Precious Fashion Shows on Saturday, December 26. It’s a mermaid-style gown with a short train. I love border-print fabrics and Agnes uses those frequently in her gown designs as she has done so beautifully in the Princess Josephine. The front of the gown features a delightful sculpted rose that is actually a pearl necklace. The back of the gown has a lovely bow topped by a shiny-textured flower that looks as if it might have been carved out of a gigantic diamond. The waist is encircled with a menu-adjustable  belt composed of a double row of pearls and diamonds.

If you wanted to wear your own jewelry with this gown, you could detach any or all of these attachments and you have a enchanting gown with a bodice bordered with a delicate white lace. Be the first in your crowd to get this amazing gown.

SCRIBBLE

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

This is a sophisticated look from Talia Lefavre of The Graceful Lily. The black lace blouse is delightful, and the fabric design fits the name of the outfit–Scribble. The sleeves have ruffles at the wrists, and there is a high collar with a jabot that is a bit difficult to see at some angles because of the translucent fabric. However, it’s clearly visible in the left view below.

The solid black skirt has a layer of lace peaking out beneath that adds a bit of fun and a belt that has a nicely textured buckle. There is a pair of stockings that matches the blouse and the plain tights that I wore. Both stocking choices end at the ankles, so I chose these simple red suede boots from Pixel Mode. I love hats and the color combination of red and black, so I was bound to love this one in red with a black stripe around the brim and an open crown with a floral accent on the right side.

This look, while sophisticated, is not for the timid because of the translucent nature of the blouse fabric. However, if you like this look as much as I do and you’re a bit hesitant, consider adding a black bra beneath it or perhaps one that matches your own skin tone. In either case, don’t let a little translucence stop you from wearing it.

THE GRACEFUL LILY SEPARATES

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

In the box with the Revel in Flesh-Reveal outfit from Talia Lefavre of The Graceful Lily were these cute separates that almost make me want to exercise–almost. The daringly-low-cut top in black and brown has a tan Egyptian pattern on both front and back. The pants are tan and black, although they look a bit orange and black on my monitor. The tan-on-tan pattern adds a nice texture and the profile of the black inset is slimming. There are also some nice details including a zipper on the back pocket and a separate belt that fits on the right thigh and has a gold chain hanging down. All-in-all a hot look.

REVEL IN FLESH-REVEAL

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

I was delighted to open a box from Talia Lefavre of The Graceful Lily. She is both a designer and a model and has a delightful approach to design. One of the things I always like about her outfits is how the skirts move–they are very fluid. What is different about her skirts I don’t know, but they seem to move differently than skirts by other designers. I had fun taking the photos to show just how the skirt of this outfit, Revel in Flesh-Reveal, moves. I also chose a monotone palette from head-to-toe to fit the theme of the gown.

AGNES FINNEY'S QUEEN OF LEGEND

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Agnes Finney’s latest gown, Queen of Legend, will become legendary for its beauty. From Ms. Finney’s choice of royal blue to her use of roses and ribbons to adorn the gown, this gown is indeed fit for a queen. The complete set comes with three skirt options as shown below.

Queen of Legend’s Short Skirt

When a short dress is what the occasion calls for, this one is a wonderful choice. I love the use of a small border print along the hem. The ruffles and white rose on the neckline of the bodice are feminine and negate the need for a necklace. (I neglected to take a picture of the bodice without the ruffles and rose, however, they can be removed and the princess neckline would be perfect to show off a favorite necklace.)

Queen of Legend’s Ball Gown

If you are headed for a ball, you want something more formal but without a train that slaps others when you’re dancing–having been overwhelmed by someone else’s train a time or two, I’m fully aware of that little issue. In those instances, you will find this to be the perfect skirt. You might get someone with the bow streamers, but they are transparent and having one of those run through you wouldn’t be so overwhelming. On the other hand, you can remove the back roses and ribbon if you prefer. I love the red roses at the waistline and the starry streamers of ribbon, so I’m not likely to remove them myself.

Queen of Legend’s Long Train Skirt

If you are going on a runway, this is the perfect skirt. The train makes a dramatic statement and the roses and ribbon provide the perfect punctuation. This is a beautiful gown for competitions and would cause judges sit up and pay attention. Once you have their attention, the rest is up to you.
