You may have thought that Kimmera Madison, designer and owner of Tres Beau, only designed gorgeous gowns and dresses. However, her designs go far beyond that. I’m only going to share one outfit in this post, but it’s amazing indeed.

The design of this suit, New Soho, is remarkable. The stand-up collar is sculpted, and the challenging texture is well done. The pill-box hat is adorable, and the feathers on the side are the perfect touch of whimsy.

This suit is a classic with lots of details–careful shading, breast pockets, color-matched buttons, wide notched cuffs, a belt with a silver buckle, an optional peplum skirt for a little kick. She even added black gloves. All I needed to add were pearl a necklace and earrings and black pumps. I feel elegant in this suit and think my RL grandmother would have approved of this look. In fact, she could probably have reproduced it for me in RL as she was a talented seamstress, and this suit brought her quickly to mind.

I was so tickled with the look that I took a little trip to Tres Beau to do a little more shopping.

Agnes Finney of My Precious has been playing in a rose garden designing dresses, and the results are spectacular.

La Rose is a delightful dress to wear. I could almost smell the gentle scent of roses wafting about me as I took the photos which, by the way, don’t do the dresses justice. The colors are soft, the patterns subtle, the sculpted roses amazing. I love the large rose corsage on the left breast and the larger hair corsage that fit beautifully.

The colors in La Rose II are bolder as is the rose worn in the hair. I pulled out a dramatic hair style that I thought was the perfect match for the rose. This dress has a sash of roses that extends over the left shoulder. One of these dresses will be shown Saturday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m. SLT and again at 5:00 p.m. SLT at the next My Precious fashion show, so you can see it for yourself. There will be another rose gown that is equally spectacular, but I’m not going to show it here, if you want to see it, you’ll have to come to the store or to the show. Of course, at the show, you’re likely to get it at a discount, so if you’re watching your Linden dollars, you don’t want to miss it. Arrive early because the region tends to fill up.

Purple is one of my all-time favorite colors, so I was delighted when Agnes Finney asked me to wear her new gown, Margaret, for the next My Precious show to be held on Saturday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m. SLT and again at 5:00 p.m. SLT.

I wanted to show it to you now for two reasons. First, I love it. The texture is luscious with light and dark areas and varying shades of purple that all make it look very rich. The strapless bodice leaves plenty of room for a necklace, although you might choose not to wear one and just let the large, sculpted flower be the focus. I love the black bandeau around the midriff that really sets the blossom off nicely. The black is repeated in the opera-length gloves that look so elegant with the gown.  The skirt is a mermaid style–I always think those look so sexy in movies that I just love to wear them in SL. What I haven’t shown you is the second version of this gown, and I’m not going to show it to you either. Come to the show and see it for yourself. It’s just as beautiful as this version, but it doesn’t have the blossom at the waist. You may find it hard to decide which one you want, but you could solve that problem and just get the complete set.

The second reason I’m showing it is that, although I’m a model for My Precious, I will be hosting this show and will be standing behind a podium rather than showing this gown on the runway. I will, however, join the audience after the show–as do all of the models–so you will get a chance to see many of the gowns up close. Ms. Finney always has a special show gown or dress that sells for just a few Lindens–that’s Linden dollars, not Linden people. She also has the gowns in the show at special prices in vendors that are easy to find. This is a show you won’t want to miss. The Alienbear jewelry worn with the gowns will be right there at the show in handy vendors.

I admit that I don’t always read messages from shops, and because of it, I miss some great clothing. I would have missed this one too, except that Roland called my attention to it. I am delighted he did because I love the outfit. We have been studying haute couture and avant garde as they are interpreted in SL. (See Roland’s blog in which he discusses it from a male’s point of view.) I might  label this in the realm of avant garde–especially if I had changed my hair to something more extreme.

The outfit from Diram is called Patty and it comes with all of the clothing you see except the boots. All of the little details make this a great outfit–the carefully spaced rows of studs on the shoulders, the spikes that run part way down the upper arm, the long row of buttons on the corset with rows of small buckles on either side, two rows of gold chain, the details on the jewelry–I haven’t listed them all, get one and look closely for more details.

As I was looking at the picture, I realized that while I liked the picture, it didn’t give the outfit the edge that it deserved, so I took another photo with a great mohawk. Feel the difference. I think this is much more of the avant garde feel the outfit was designed for. What do you think?

When Alienbear Gupte and Agnes Finney decide to make gowns and jewelry that go together, they come up with something spectacular as they have with the jewelry and gowns below. The first is a short gown by Agnes Finney inspired by the designs of the late Alexander McQueen and worn with necklace, earrings, and bracelets from Alienbear Gupte.

Ms. Finney has a new gown out based on her original design and Ms. Gupte has added a forehead tiara to the selection of coordinating jewelry. I love them all. Both designers have really outdone themselves this time. I can hardly wait to see what they do next.

The Hunt for a Hope hunt is on, but only until April 8, so please get started now. In the last post I showed you a few items from the eggs at Moxie Polanos Haute Couture. Here are two outfits from one of three eggs at Ema’s Secret. I loved the options in all them–not just one outfit, but fat packs! In this one there was a third version with the blouse a brighter white that I didn’t picture here. It was included because of a difference in how something is viewed between the old and new viewers. That was a thoughtful inclusion–thanks, Ema.

Remember that all of the money raised goes to the Relay for Life, so this is not a free hunt, but each item I have picked up has been worth many times what I paid for it–usually 10L. The price of an egg is not always 10L though, so if you are on a budget, keep your eyes on the prices.

The SL Clothing Fair may be over for another year, but the RFL efforts continue. The Relay Raiders Team has organized a hunt for eggs, but this is a money-raising hunt, so the eggs are not free. Most of the eggs are 10L, but don’t make the mistake of assuming that every egg is 10L. In the first eight that I bought, there was at least one for 25L and one for 100L. Remember that 100% of what you pay goes to Relay for Life, so be generous, please. Just like the Clothing Fair, you have to pay the amount that comes up to get the egg, but you can always pay more. If you pay less, you will not get the egg. (Sorry, I neglected to record what each item cost–I’m learning the new viewer and there is just too much to learn for me to remember to do everything I normally would such as recording how much I paid for something.)

The first items I picked up came from Moxie Polanos Haute Styles. She put out 15 eggs. Some are very large and obvious, others are hidden. I only found 13 out of the 15 and bought a few of them more than once–okay, I need to pay more attention, but it’s not a lot of Lindens and it goes to such a great cause. Below are items from four eggs: the bikini, the belt, the hat, and the rabbit (one of three items in that egg, that includes a rabbit to set down and a set of bunny ears).

I loved the way the skirt moved when I was snapping photos. I can hardly wait to wear this out!

The hemline has a cute border print of yellow and white flowers, but the print is subtle and you have to look closely to see it.

The background of the bodice is white, but golden flowers are liberally sprinkled about on the front and back. I love this little dress–it’s going to be one I wear often during the spring and summer months. Thank you, Agnes.
