In a previous blog, I mentioned that the FineSmith’s Design Hunt “Forbidden Pleasures” was underway. In this blog I want to share some of the treasures I’ve found. You have to pay for the items, but in each one you’ll find something worth much more than you paid for it.

Here are three items from the hunt (in no particular order): Privileged Hecate, Sweet Cocktail Earrings, and RingHer. Except for the dress, I changed the texture or color of the items to fit my mood. That’s one of the many things I like about Yula’s designs–they are changeable. For example, the earrings are 10% smaller than they were originally and I changed the texture and color of the gem.

Yula Finesmith put one item in each of the occupied stores in the mall and the rest are in her own store. Have fun hunting.

From January 14, 2011 to January 22, 2011 Finesmith Mainstore will be holding a hunt for everyone to enjoy, with great prizes and more.

The hunt started at 10am on the 14th.

In order to take part of the hunt you simply tp to the start point in the Finesmith Mainstore and from there on start looking all over the Finesmith parcel for the Forbidden Frui

An apple will be placed on each of the stores on the Finesmith mall and the rest will be located inside the Mainstore, no hints, no LM you will have to run around the sim to find them.

Each hunt item is set for sale at a price ranged between L$1 and L$150 – items inside are worth L$250-1000L each
so you will end up with some awesome deals and amazing jewelry from Finesmith.

**FineSmith Designs Limo**

They’re classic–just the kind of pieces you’ll go back to often. A simple, long row of diamonds at each ear and at the throat. Yula Finesmith calls them Row Necklace and Row Earrings and you can have either for 55L from Thursday at 7:00 a.m. SLT until Friday at 7:00 a.m. SLT. EXCEPT the price is still set at 55L and I happen to know that Yula will not be back in world until Saturday, so that means you can still find these pieces set at 55L each.

…my latest set of jewelry from designer Yula Finesmith of FineSmith Designs. I hope you like it as much as I do–earrings, a necklace, and a ring–all inspired by me! I love that!

You’ll find three different versions: (a) a gold set, (b) a silver set, and (c) a color-change set in which you can have the metal either all one color or two colors (from a selection of metals) and you can change the gems (from a wide selection of gemstones). I have mine set on silver with 14-carat gold and diamonds. You can even color the metals. If you want a black or red or green necklace, just select a color from the menu. You can also change the size so you can make it quite a bit larger or smaller and attach it to a different part of the body. I can see this necklace has a hair ornament or maybe a belt, although the shape might night work as a built, but I think I play and see. (I recommend copying anything you want to attach to another part of the body first so you have the original attached to the original body part in case you change you mind.) I love Yula’s jewelry. It’s not only fun to wear, it’s fun to experiment with.

The set, Inspired by Xenobia, reminds me of suns, and sunshine makes me happy. I don’t want to take this set off–I hope you feel the same…um, not that you don’t want me to take it off, but that you don’t want to take if off after you buy it. (Sometimes I realize that what I’ve said could be taken the wrong way. You know, like when the waitress comes up and says, “My name is Robin if you need anything.” I have been known to ask, “What is your name if I don’t need anything?”) You’re probably wondering, “If she realized that could be taken the wrong way, why didn’t she just reword it?” I certainly could have, but then I wouldn’t have had an opportunity to tell you the story about the waitress.

I’m in one of those moods today where I cannot make up my mind. So I’m posting all three of my best photos.

I ran into Laetitia Vells today wearing these earrings, but she had turned them upside down and was wearing the sunbursts on her ears with the single diamond dangling. That was a great look that I’m going to try. Thanks for the idea, Laetitia.

Oh, my gosh! Yula Finesmith has some new stone textures and she is showing them off in this set of bangles. One set of bangles for only 10L! Not only are they colorful, but you can copy them and resize them. That mans you can wear them down by your wrist or pushed up on your forearm or on your upper arms. I just couldn’t decide.

It’s true–a RL designer has broken into SL. The team has done a marvelous job of keeping the vision of the RL designer in the SL clothing. Chantal and Whistle Wheelwright, SL designer of Chantal’s real life designs are enjoying a moment in the sun.

If you would like to see a show, don’t expect to see a mass invitation. They do small shows and attendance is by invitation only. The intimacy allows for almost lag-free shows where you have a really great chance of seeing every design presented. If you would like an invitation, drop a notecard to Parisian Skytower or Mika Palmyra.

Above is the RL photo that comes in the folder with the clothing. Below is a photo I took of me wearing the Ibiza bikini/skirt. Whistle Wheelwright, part of the SHAN SL team, added the SHAN logo to the photo for me.

There may be no doubt about which of the above photos is RL and which is SL, but the SL examples are so much like their RL counterparts that it is really amazing. The careful attention to detail in bringing the RL SHAN beachwear into SL will undoubtedly make it a big hit. What is even more fun is that you can buy any of the SL designs for your avatar and then go online and buy the same RL design for yourself.

I am not going to tell you the story about how this wonderful team came to be. I’ll leave that to the team at Maniera Magazine. I happen to know they are working on an article, so I’ll leave the details to them. In the meantime, go visit one of the SHAN stores and pick up a swimsuit.

Wearing this swimwear now is helping me, one of those in the northern hemisphere who wants to forget it’s winter by walking around SL in a bikini. Join me and let’s  find an SL beach and enjoy looking like a million dollars wearing designs from SHAN.
