I love fedoras in SL as well as in real, so this week my contribution to Fifty5 Thursday is this Woven Silk Fedora. Because I have it colored black, you cannot see the texture, but change colors to something lighter and you can see the woven silk ribbons. A classy look, don’t you think?

I’ve been trying to catch up with all of the items I have received to preview for The Runway Perfect Hunt. It’s a challenge, but it’s fun. I hope it’s piquing your interest for the hunt that starts October 1. It has been limited to 50 designers, so it shouldn’t be overwhelming. I think you’ll enjoy it. There are 50 designers who are participating in The Runway Perfect Hunt that starts October 1. Some of the designers are putting out hunt items that are gender neutral and others are including both male and female gifts. For example, the shape I’m wearing below is from DuckSnake, and that designer has both male and female shapes included. The hat, from Xen’s Hat, can be worn by both men and women and is resizable and color-changeable. The list of hunt items with links are below the photos.

The Make Him Over Hunts have been so successful that organizer Vic Zuzu decided to organize a Make Her Over Hunt. The first hunt started yesterday and here are five of my finds. The Runway Perfect Hunt starts October 1 and runs through October 31. The designers kept models in mind when they made their hunt prizes. For example, when I designed Zeb’s Zebra Fedora, I made it resizable and color-changeable so you could wear it in many ways with lots of different outfits. You can even recolor it black to have a solid black fedora. I hope you like it as much as I do. Here is your first glimpse at it and some of the other terrific items from the hunt including the dress, the jewelry, and the shoes. (You don’t have to be a model to participate in the hunt. Everyone is welcome.)

The dress below comes with some great blue flowers to be worn at the waist and shoulder, but I had this black-and-fushia look going on, so I left them off. Interestingly, the only thing I needed to recolor was the hat, and it comes a hud to make-color matching easy.

Today I received a great gift from ちーさん AKA Chiaki Xue from DURA Hair. I always love her gifts because they are invariably great hair, and this is no exception—I adore her hair, especially her short hair. It always looks so good and fits well with little or no editing. She includes two versions, one with a resize script and one without.

I love sunshine and want to take advantage of the summer sun as much as possible because gray winter days will be here all too soon. Sun can get to be a bit strong at times, and a raised hand can block the glare of sunlight bouncing off warm ocean waves while I contemplate my choice of clothing.

On Friday I get the pleasure of meeting the real life SHAN designer CHANTAL LÉVESQUE who is coming to see SHAN SL Island and meet the SL models for the SHAN Second Life Collection. I can hardly wait. For her visit, we were asked to style for a garden party wearing one piece from her collection. Each piece is a recreation of one of the SHAN real life pieces, and selecting only one piece was tough because all of the designs are so pretty and very well executed.

Once I finally selected the black Stella Body Glove, I added the Zoey’s Floral Chapeau from Xen’s Hats. Since the hat is color-change, I can recolor it to match anything—in this case orange to match the jacket that came from Riccielli. I love the style and details on the jacket. I added a very old but favorite pair of shoes that are also color-change, unfortunately no longer available. The earrings and bracelet are Reign by Finesmith that I changed to platinum with citrine. (I LOVE color-change items.) While I was looking at this photo, I realized I needed a necklace, so I’m going to add the Noga necklace in citrine, also from Finesmith.

Add hair from Amacci, Finesmith fingernails with rings, eyelashes from Miamai, and eyeshadow from blackLiquid Makeup, and I’m ready to meet Ms. LÉVESQUE. I can’t believe I’m ready so soon, but then I can hardly wait for Friday!

It’s been an incredibly busy week, but I managed to find time to design two hats for today’s Fifty5 Thursday event. Both are top hats, are resizable with a click on the hat, and color-change using the hud that comes with the hat. However, one has a small net rose for the more feminine looks in your wardrobe, and the other does not have the rose. Here is the one with the rose, I’ve reduced it to very small and colored everything white except for the hat band. I hope you like it as much as I do. It’s set for 55L for 24 hours, so go get it!
