I fell in love with this jewelry set the moment I saw it. Designed by Yula Finesmith to be worn by Anna Sapphire for the 2012 Ms Virtual World competition (that she won), it is now available at FineSmith for everyone. The pieces are texture-change using a menu, so it is very versatile. This is one of those sets I’ll go back to often. The headpiece style is unlike any design I have seen in SL. The earrings are delicate enough to be worn with most of my wardrobe. There are two necklaces that both look as good from the back as they do from the front, they are shown here together, but I could also wear them separately. I’ve paired it with this gorgeous gown from Entre Mares.

When Maniera asked for models to walk with their recent graduates, I was thrilled to volunteer. Maniera Institute of Style is well known for teaching styling. They do in depth teaching of a genre for each class of models. What is really great is that once you graduate from the school, you can go back to sit in on classes for no additional cost. The most recent graduating class learned about the various subcategories of Goth. I modeled two of them in the show—European Goth and American Goth. There are two free hats currently available at Xen’s Hats. First is “Pilgrim” in honor of the Pilgrims who celebrated the first Thanksgiving with their Native American neighbors. While it is an American holiday, you do not need to be from America to appreciate this cute, stylish conical style hat in black with a silver buckle on a black band. Who said Pilgrims weren’t stylish? Of course, you don’t have to dress like a Pilgrim to wear this cute hat.

This second free gift is a hairband that is color-change to match your favorite outfit. Help control those errant hairs with this little band. (Most hair needs at least a bit of editing, but the one I’m wearing doesn’t require a lot of editing.)

I love Fifty5 Thursdays and  putting up one of my hats for sale at that very low price. Today’s hat is named “Topaz” after the cat I was holding when I was trying to think of a name. Topaz is my real life cat who spends many hours draped across my lap and arms sleeping while I try to work on my laptop. She is there as I write this—sound asleep.

As usual, the hat is color-change, so you can change it to match whatever you are wearing rather than trying to find a hat that is the right color. I love that. The outfit is from ELAN. I saw it at the ELAN show at New York Virtual Fashion Week. This one is on a special price this week. Many of the designers for this show are fairly new to the fashion scene. They held the first fashion show for Xen’s Hats earlier this week.

The boots are from Mary Jane Shoes. I got them on one of the mini hunts where Infiniti Minhi, the designer, puts three pairs of shoes or boots on sale for only 100L. It’s a hunt because she doesn’t tell us which three are on sale. I’m pretty systematic in my search and can usually find them pretty quickly. There is a mini hunt going on as I write this, but it’s not going on much longer. (This pair of boots is NOT on this week’s hunt.)

It’s really named “Mia,” but I couldn’t resist using a phrase I’ve heard my entire life.

I’ve been trying to catch up with all of the items I have received to preview for The Runway Perfect Hunt. It’s a challenge, but it’s fun. I hope it’s piquing your interest for the hunt that starts October 1. It has been limited to 50 designers, so it shouldn’t be overwhelming. I think you’ll enjoy it. There are 50 designers who are participating in The Runway Perfect Hunt that starts October 1. Some of the designers are putting out hunt items that are gender neutral and others are including both male and female gifts. For example, the shape I’m wearing below is from DuckSnake, and that designer has both male and female shapes included. The owner and designer of Entre Mares, Sykao Adamski, is sponsoring a fashion show Saturday, August 8 at 5:00 SLT.  This is a show you won’t want to miss. Here is one of the gowns in the show. I thought you might be interested in seeing how this hat looks while I’m wearing the color-change hud. Using the hud I had just changed the color of the petals to yellow, selecting one of the preset colors and then moving the selecting tool around a bit to get just the shade of yellow that I wanted.
