RUNWAY POSES FROM PROPS-N-POSES (PNP)

Saturday, May 14th, 2011

Better known for props and poses for photography, Spishak Sorbet of Props-N-Poses (PNP) has brought out a new line of more than 240 poses for the runway for both males and females. Some of you might be thinking, “That’s just what we need—another pose maker for models.” However, Spishak has some interesting differences. First, look at where the arrows to change poses are—right about thigh-high. If you are like me and are often looking for poses for long gowns, you have gotten frustrated at arrows at floor height that get buried beneath these long skirts.

PNP_001

Even if one arrow does get buried, the other will be clear. I usually use the right button when I go through poses. So, if the right arrow gets buried, I can click the left arrow once and then the right twice in quick succession to go past the troublesome pose—all of this without having to search for a buried arrow or jumping off to forward it.

PNP_003

What more can you ask from a pose maker? I’ll tell you. Find a great pose except for a buried finger or a hand that is on the wrong side of a scepter? Just ask and Spishak will fix it for you. I wonder if he has any idea how swamped he may be? I don’t know about you, but having a 100L tweaked for just 60L per fitting is a dream come true! That’s just about the cost for uploading an animation. Here is your runway to PNP.

On Sunday at 2:00 the new poses will be presented in the PNP Runway Show produced by Outrageous Glamour Model Agency. The models will be wearing items from Apple May Designs, Azoury Couture, Champagne/Sparkling Fashion, Finesmith Designs, Le Charme, Mary Jane Shoes, Privileged, Sascha’s Designs, and Silken Moon.

THANK YOU, YULA

Saturday, May 7th, 2011

I am always so tickled when I see a new gift from Yula Finesmith. I never know what she may have thought of next, and I am never disappointed. This time she has sent out a group gift for Mothers Day. It’s these great earrings and necklace I’m wearing. She has begun using some new colors in her jewelry, and I just love the look. If you are a member and you missed the gift, check the past notices from the Finesmith Jewelry group. If you are not a member, it’s not to late to join and get the gift. If you prefer to wear your group tag and pop over to Finesmith’s for the gift, here is the location.

FINESMITH’S “FORBIDDEN PLEASURES” FILLED WITH TREASURES

Monday, January 17th, 2011

In a previous blog, I mentioned that the FineSmith’s Design Hunt “Forbidden Pleasures” was underway. In this blog I want to share some of the treasures I’ve found. You have to pay for the items, but in each one you’ll find something worth much more than you paid for it.

Here are three items from the hunt (in no particular order): Privileged Hecate, Sweet Cocktail Earrings, and RingHer. Except for the dress, I changed the texture or color of the items to fit my mood. That’s one of the many things I like about Yula’s designs–they are changeable. For example, the earrings are 10% smaller than they were originally and I changed the texture and color of the gem.

Yula Finesmith put one item in each of the occupied stores in the mall and the rest are in her own store. Have fun hunting.

FINESMITH JEWELRY CHALLENGE 3: MANIERISM

Monday, October 25th, 2010

Week 3: October 22

Finesmith Manieraism

Yula Finesmith is sponsoring a weekly competition in which she challenges models to use at least one piece of her jewelry in an outfit to fit the theme of the week. You can read all about the competition and how to enter here.

Manierism - a style in art and architecture from about 1520-1600, one of the features from this style of art being elongated forms, sometimes unrealistically elongated. I chose as my inspiration the Mavis gown from designer Agnes Finney that I think makes me appear taller. Knowing that wearing a single color adds to the illusion of height, I chose a very pale skin from CUPCAKES that has sepia tone makeup. I continued sepia color onto my scalp with a hairbase tattoo from Amacci and a hairdo of my own design that continues the elongated form and encorporates a silver band.

The silver band was added to my hair only after I selected my Finesmith jewelry. – in this case the GLANCE Collection. I love the elongation and layering aspects of both the necklace and the bracelets. They are reflect the layers of the gown.

To complete the look I added white tights from Sheer and white shoes from G Field. All-in-all, I think I’ve interpreted manierism in a great, up-to-date style. I hope you agree.

Unfortunately, I won’t be competing next week or the next or the next. Fortunately, it’s because I won the last styling! Now I’m eligible for the finals on December 17th. I can hardly wait to see what the theme for that is. In the meantime, the theme for this week is surrealism. Not quite sure what that is? Google it, study it, and adapt it to fit you.
